Patty Johnson's Acupuncture proudly offers a warm, inviting, and professional environment, which is reflected in the quality of staff and services. At our clinic, our dedicated team provides personalized, detox treatments and holistic medicine treatments for patients looking to enhance their well-being and improve their quality of life. Our methods are designed to reduce our patients' symptoms, as well as improve their ability to manage stress and anxiety. Our goal is to collaborate with you to understand your expectations and offer you relief wherever possible.
Before Your Appointment
When you visit our herbalist/acupuncturist, to ensure the best experience, we ask that you carefully consider the following:
Keep the End in Mind: Be prepared to undergo the entire procedure. Stopping midway for any reason is a waste of money for you and time for both of us.
Acupuncture is Not a Pain Reliever: We are not eliminating the source of your discomfort. Rather, we are correcting your body’s imbalances.
Regular Appointments: In most cases, a one-time treatment is rarely enough. We recommend scheduling multiple sessions so that you can get the most out of the procedure.
Once you arrive at your appointment, the receptionist at the front desk can help you sign in and start filling out the necessary paperwork. You’ll be taken to the acupuncture room, where you can begin preparing for the session and take some time to relax.
Scheduling Your Appointment
We understand that our patients live busy lives, and our acupuncture clinic strives to accommodate everyone whenever possible. If you miss an appointment or you might be late, please come in the same day or the following day. At the least, please try to make up the appointment within the same week. We can work around your schedule, and you can reserve time slots over the phone, any time of the day or night, with our automated system. If, for some reason, we are unable to commit to your selected time, we will call you as soon as possible to let you know.
Dedicated to Our Patients
Our acupuncturist is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality acupuncture services available. You will have our complete attention and concern throughout the process as we draw upon a wealth of knowledge and expertise to correct your body’s imbalances.
If you would feel more comfortable with friends or family by your side, they are welcome to join you. We would love the opportunity to introduce more people to the serenity that comes with acupuncture.

What to expect on your first visit
The New Patient paperwork includes 4 legal forms and 4 medical intake forms that should be read and filled out, and 2 privacy forms that only need to be read. After checking in for your appointment, your acupuncturist will follow up on the information you provided in your intake forms during a 15-20 minute consultation. She may ask you a series of detailed questions about any health problems or symptoms you might be having. In addition to your paperwork and consultation, your practitioner will also examine your tongue and feel your pulse in both wrists in order to arrive at a traditional Chinese medical diagnosis. If you are taking any medication or herbal supplements please let your acupuncturist know. After the initial consultation, you may be asked to remove your shoes and socks and lie down. Depending on the area to receive treatment, you may be asked to remove other articles of clothing. For your comfort and convenience we offer clean medical gowns that can be worn during your treatment. After swabbing the various acupuncture sites with alcohol, your practitioner will insert very thin, sterile, disposable needles. Although some points are more sensitive than others, the patient will usually feel little to no sensation or discomfort. A heat lamp and/or space heater are available should you feel cold during your treatment. The needles will be left in for approximately 25-35 minutes. During this time the practitioner will check on you several times, and a finger bell will be available should you need to contact your acupuncturist for any reason. Most people find acupuncture to be very relaxing; however, should you experience any pain or discomfort, please alert your practitioner right away so adjustments can be made. If your practitioner thinks it would be beneficial to your treatment, she might make recommendations for traditional Chinese herbs, dietary and/or exercise changes as part of her suggested treatment plan. After your treatment you’re invited to visit our reception desk to schedule your next appointment. Any herbs your acupuncturist recommended can be order with front desk.
